Using AI to generate images

When I was writing my book I had very clear ideas in my mind of what the worlds and characters would look like. I knew I could never really fully detail how characters look so I was a little vague, allowing the reader to picture their own characters. I mean Ben as a man in his 40's, athletic, brown hair, gives enough to start to create an image, but when you play about with AI and it comes up with something that is unbelievably close. I was blown away by what the app created.
As I spent years writing, along the way I did read about AI and how it can help write. That was out of the question for me, and always will be. My creation is completely me, the good and the bad. The software I used did show me errors, but that was as far as I wanted to go with it. At the end of the process I felt proud of what I had created, from the first words, and then right through and into self publishing the book. Using AI would have ruined that for me.
The big difference between using AI to create images and writing the book is that there is no way I could have created these images. Even spending years learning how to digitally create them, or employing models to become them, I would not have hit the nail on the head like with the images on this website. It took a day of trial and error and I produced a collection of great ideas. Without the images I could never have started this website that recreates the characters. I am so happy with this part of the storytelling so I am thankful for AI in that respect, nervous about how far it will go, but very thankful.
Going forward I will only use the images as part of the marketing and information behind the series of books. They will always be separate to the actual books, including the covers.
Note: I used DeepAI, on the site it says that the images can be used for commercial use. However, I am aware that this is a new world and if any images are copyrighted then please write to me (evidenced) and I will remove them.
Thanks for reading
